To replace Sandra Day O'Connor, Bush nominated John G. Roberts. Roberts is nominated to replace the first woman judge on the Supreme Court, whose swing vote decided monumental cases for both women's and civil rights in general. Unline O'Connor, Roberts is a conservative, Catholic man, who is young enough to reverse progress and stall change. I am sad about this because I love America and the freedoms she supports, freedoms I hope Roberts, if appointed, will strengthen and not break away.
